Planning Comments
Application 05/00482/FUL. Erection of two storey side extension and front porch - 24 New Park, Castle Hedingham – No objections – seems a very appropriate exterior.
Application CC/BTE/36/05 - The erection of a single storey extension to existing library including a new entrance to the school, the formal definition and delineation of 11 parking spaces and minor internal road and access improvements - Hedingham School, Yeldham Road, Sible Hedingham – No objections - the Parish Council fully support this application.
Application 05/00604/FUL – proposed dormer windows, erection of porch and cart lodge - 114 Nunnery Street, Castle Hedingham – No objections.
Application 05/00654/FUL – Proposed erection of detached dwelling house - Bailey Lodge, Pye Corner, Castle Hedingham - The Parish Council object to the proposed use of weatherboarding on the property which is not in keeping with the materials/architectural styles of the village. The use of this type of material has already been refused by Braintree District Council in a recent planning application (04/00343/FUL Ibstocks, 5 Castle Lane, Castle Hedingham). The Parish Council is also concerned that this application is a little premature as until Braintree District Council adopt the new Local Plan this site is outside of the village envelope.
Application 05/00670/LBC – Installation of replacement windows - Lippingwells Farm, Rushley Green, Castle Hedingham - No objections – this would be an improvement on the existing windows.
Youth Council - Sible Hedingham Parish Council and Hedingham School have indicated that they would be very interested in working with the Parish Council to set up a Hedingham Youth Council. It was agreed that a meeting with interested parties should be set up in the near future to move this matter forward. Mrs Allfrey and Mr Higgins will represent the Parish Council at this meeting.
Telegraph Pole – It was noted that parishioners had expressed concern regarding the height of a replacement telegraph pole that had been put in at the junction of Church Lane and Church Ponds. The Clerk had contacted BT who confirmed that following a incident where a BT Engineer had been killed their policy under healthy and safety guidance is to install taller poles where wires run across roads to ensure there is at least 5m clearance from the road. Anyone wishing to complain about a telegraph pole should write to BT Work Style Building, APO Pole Objections, 160 London Road, Sevenoaks TN13 1BT
Fly Tipping
The Parish Council ask parishioners to report any incidents of fly tipping to Braintree District Council Clean Team on 01376 331616.
